If I was involved in lithium production via ponds, I would be very concerned about DLE and the issue would be about stranded assets. Now you have the great brines Olaroz and Sal de Vida where the lithium concentration is in the vicinity of 600 mg/l as to the supposed substandard brine of Kachi around 200 mg/litre that's a wide comfortable margin but if you are going to throw half the lithium away in the waste then your effective concentration is more like 300 mg/l
The great potential of DLE is that it will be able to work with brines that were previously thought of as uncommercial and greatly reduce wastage.
DLE will unlock brines of a lot lower concentration than the premium brines and this is good the world leads as much lithium as we can lay our hands on. Always keep an eye on that damn seawater, if they start extracting lithium from that then we like the pond people will be doomed I tell you doomed.
