Vautex, I hold the view that any deal involving AGU or the other 2 companies remains suspect until clarified. It's not hard to keep shareholders informed, in fact it was a lack of detail that let Scook & Co get away with the raft of dodgy deals in 2007. People chose to trust management, which turned out to be misplaced trust.

I'm sure current management are very aware of the need to distance themselves from the past which is why it is imperative to keep the market informed if they wish to remove any lingering douts as to their intentions.

Anyone who has followed the story from the beginning will easily understand why there is still some suspicion, considering all the players involved.

As for the MPPL loan, I acknowledged in my previous post that it may have been paid back or AGU may now have a stake in the company. Who knows, it could even become seed capital in a future listing of MPPL. The issue isn't so much about loaning the money (though it does seem like a high risk investment) but for what purpose. And that is where an explanation is required. I hold and am confident AGU will increase appreciably this year, but I was equally confident 21/2 years ago before the underhanded deals robbed all genuine shareholders.

If AGU had a history of performing quality value-adding deals at arms length like many more reputable companies then shareholders could feel confident that all deals are for the benefit of the company. Until the current management gets the runs on the board I treat all deals with suspicision, especially when they choose not to even offer any explanation. I would have thought it was significant enough to warrant an announcement, instead the only details forthcoming are a few lines in a Quarterly and Annual reports.

I voice my concerns here openly and am happy to offer words of support or congratulations if I think it is warranted. This is just my opinion, taking into account all announcements to the ASX and keeping in mind the history of AGU.
