There is significant and growing community resistance to Allup’s planned open pit silica sand mines near Quinninup in the Southern Forest region of Southwest WA. The group is well organised and has a growing social media presence, drawing upon broader concerns of mining in the southwest. This is evidence by the following links, and even an ABC report.
