Important info:
Record date (7 April 2022) is when you needed to be holding shares to be eligible.
For every 8 MFG shares held on 7 April, you will receive 1 x MFGO
Options expire in April 2027 with exercise price of $35. At any point before the expiry, you can exercise the options by paying $35 to the company to convert your MFGO to MFG. ie if MFG is trading under $35 it won't be worthwhile.
You need to hold the shares through a broker (usually CommBank, etc). If you're using a trading app like eToro then you're trading cfds and won't be eligible.
All of this is to the best of my knowledge - I am not particularly experienced, but learning.
