One of the major problems with LFP batteries is that they weigh about twice as much per amp as lithium ion batteries. With electric vehicles the 'weight per amp' really matters as the thing has to be transported by the thing it's amps are powering.
Another problem with LFP batteries is that Improvements in the efficiency of LFP batteries available through optimisation of their chemistry have reached a plateau because they have been around a long time.
A further problem is that LFP batteries can't really be recycled because the L stands for lead and nobody wants lead and developmental disorders in children are a bit on the nose to put it lightly .
with these facts in mind the fifigures from the quarterly, showing that LFP batteries will peak soon and then tail off rapidly, make sense. Regardless of the current prices of some of the components of lithium ion batteries you would be a goose to think LFP batteries will prevail long term.
