well Germany was complacent about their dependancy on Russian gas -partly Merkels blame - they had assumed everything was peaceful in Europe and days of warfare were over . Now Germany has , to their credit , adjusted quickly to the new reality and ended that dependance - a market that will NEVER return to Russia !
THAT is what Russia has done to itself ! Did Putin imagine Europe would just put up with his aggression because they needed the gas ? -Oops ! - (another) Putin error of judgement !
