If Mike Cannon-Brookes is really wanting to buy AGL to speed up the de-carbon process in Australia he should just wait till the demerger happen then buy the dirty half of AGL for half the price and break it apart then. Why would he choose to buy now?
Obviously, he is seeing that AGL is a bargain at it's current price / current form and even at $8.62 it's still extremely under-valued. In addition, it has plenty of future potential. Such a no brainer, but he won't be telling the public that directly because it will pump up the price further and he'll need more $$ to buy it.
