Indeed the work undertaken by Cole 2021 is publicly available, and the oil majors looking at PCL's block PEL87 will have a wealth of information in addition to this paper. They will also undertake their own basin modelling work and subsurface interpretations, with the key word being on "interpretations", as subsurface practitioners interpreting the same subsurface data often make different conclusions; healthy debate is very important as are vigorous peer reviews of the technical work and conclusions. In the end, it comes down to the "rotary lie detector" to tell us who is closer to reality.
