@Cowboyinvestor, sorry but that's not quite the situation. I don't think you are fully clear on what a STAT is.
Among other things, the STAT can be used as an alternative pathway into any university course already. It is often used when the candidate doesn't have an ATAR (for example if they come from overseas), or doesn't have a recent ATAR (for example if they've been in the workforce and want to return to study).
You can already use a STAT to enter teaching if you don't have a recent ATAR. It's recognised in every state of Australia.
Which is why we are having trouble understanding this new policy for an additional test for teaching candidates.
