it was down 10 percent in regular session in anticipation of bad results and when it did not fall immediately there would have been short covering

It was on a PE of 269 prior to results and even more now

Results were less than impressive

Block Inc reported quarterly adjusted earnings of 18 cents per share for the quarter ended in March. The mean expectation of thirty seven analysts for the quarter was for earnings of 21 cents per share.

* Block Inc shares had fallen by 21.2% this quarter and lost 33.9% so far this year.

* The company reported a quarterly loss of $204.2 million.
