Do you not know that the Ruble was supposed to become toilet paper? One poster even wanted to put his money on it! (I would have taken him on if this was not an anon site.)

Now the REAL reason the Ruble is appreciating is because of the around billion dollars a day USD that is coming into the country via sale of largely fossils. Previously the Rouble was "artificially" kept lower by the net outflows purchasing foreign assets - that is no longer an option for the Russkies. Guess what? The Ruble will only get stronger, IMO! Watch this space.

If you care to do some simple research you will find that while inflation had increased following the sanctions it is now coming down.
