The main objective with the demerger is that it is will increase AGLs ability to raise much needed finances to actually fund the energy transition. On this point, MCB's argument is that with him and others in a unique position to be able to raise the funds internally, there is no need to raise external funding to the same extend as before, and therefore the whole logic behind the fund raising strategy has now changed.
