The circular bridge is no fail. It's what you seek to engineer for. Had it been straight, it would have horrible traffic jams, with the circular design, more cars fit, at any given time on the bridge, ie, faster passing over the bridge, if it was for ONE care, sure, the straight line is the best route, but it's not meant for just one car, it's meant for millions of vehicles that pass that bridge.
