Capital consists of both Tier 1 and Tier 2 capital with a requirement to hold circa. 20-25% (depending on any tyro-specific adjustments required by APRA). There is a minimum allocation of 8% in Tier 1 (of which Tyro complies). The remaining capital can be held in Tier 1 or Tier 2 instruments of which Tyro has no Tier 2 capital.
Assuming that Tyro's CAR is required to be 20% (on the lower end of the scale), Tyro's cash burn could see them approach this level within a year (at current loss rates) or sooner depending on income and capital investments.
This is why market analysts have been questioning whether Tyro's cash burn has been arrested otherwise a capital raise is very likely...
