Whilst have not been a shareholder in any company drilling deep for O&G for a number of years, I expect the most expensive part of a land based deep drill is the first part - rig mobilization, installing the BOP and reaching the lesser sized drilling.
So hopefully now that into the smaller sized bore, then costs do not blowout to the same extent. up to now
In this case, there was also a cost delay waiting for the rig, being a one off cost that does not apply to the 2nd hole
