What is your evidence for this claim, and why would Russia willingly abandon a strategically crucial island?

You are either telling fibs, or you are saying Russia was defeated and forced to abandon the island.

Your further claim that "Ukraine then launched a big attack on an empty island" is demonstrably false, as direct footage of moving targets at the island being smoked by Ukrainian drones has already been posted on here.

There is no magic.
