i finally found out the cause of the demerger delay and this is what i found:

ND Mike had contacted the asx to request a halt pending announcement of a placement in conjunction with the demerger.
indeed, agreements were already in place for newly isssued shares.
The asx slave i mean employee had already heard of ND Mike and his dog when being assigned to the company account, and there was also a notification in the asx system to contact Alistair in case ND requested a halt exactly for this purpose.
Alistair then called a meeting a gave ND a warning, and some treats for the dog.
ND was getting upset, but it's just a first warning at this stage. warning: majors last.
