Demerger or no, the real challenge for AGL is that its corporate management lacks the vision, intelligence and grit to lead the company through the energy transition. Think CBA in the 90s and AMP until today. The demerger is simply to appease disgruntled share holders. It might produce a short term uplift in SP, but there is not a compelling case for any long term benefit. I don't care about the demerger either way, as it is in my opinion a smoke and mirror exercise that does not addressing any of the important stuff.
