You well know that the original strains of Covid were far more serious than the Omicron mutation.
I remind you of Australia's first experience with a former strain of Covid who were enjoying their cruise on the Ruby Princess when Covid struck. The result 20 of those Australian travellers died. Under the earlier strains doctors, nurses people from all walks died. Had it not been for the alarm bells and closed borders and general measures many more millions would have died. Luckily the new covid strain while highly infectious is not as serious and most people including the immune compromised are vaccinated and less susceptible to serious illness. In terms of Hanson I hope she recovers well but it may be some time before one knows how she fares long term given her age.
