@kingpins - I am still not sure how this 'printing money' business eventually plays out - probably a revolution or a war - or total break-down of the Western monetary system.
Can't see why we cannot cancel a deal with the U.S. for something which will most likely be available in many years hence, when in the meantime there is a super power developing in our vicinity who could just stroll in - if they had a mind to - (which I do not think they will do) - but to pledge yourself so far into the future to pay huge sums for items which could - again - be outdated by the time they arrive?
It's sheer madness, simply made to pacify the weapons industry in the U.S. - the world's largest weapons manufacturer!
Are we actually making regular down-payments on this future deal?
I agree; this job is daunting - my first thought when I realised Labor won - I hope 'Albo' is truly underestimated (he says so himself) and he and his team will rise to the occasion.
