The only things that comes to mind is a combination of spite and greed initially, after being burned on the run up to $4 (and the recognition that at $4 it had gotten ahead of itself).
Then overconfidence as the strategy was working, and likely not understanding the nuances of the product and how it was superior to those other companies with market caps of $300m.
And now being in a situation of greed and desperation realising they can't rely on cap raise or company failure to exit.
Anyone else got theories? It's bewildering. Where will they get the liquidity to close? We must be near 80 million shares on short. That's... a lot of shares.
