it is not a scam @efed- it is the considered opinion of the market that management team of AMP is incompetent . It would not have been too difficult for the management to indicate a minimum amount of return of capital . They could have said the amount could be increased depending upon the payout earned. That would have put a floor under the sp. The fact that they did not mention anything and just repeated what they said at the time of sale has made the market suspicious of their intent. Either they are looking at acquiring something or they still have not figured out what to do with the money. Both situations are bad in my opinion especially second one. Just think about it- nobody in such a big organisation were competent enough to run AMP capital. They just did know how to run a business which was at one time thier crown jewel.

They should just buy back shares or return the capital- not dividend, just not tax efficient for many people.
