Just over 6mths ago, owners of Ladbroke offered $3.5bil for the TAB assets Incl. media and sky. That equates to just over $ 1.50per share. The view at that time was the offer was well below the value of TAB. hence, the break up to reflect the true value of both businesses. I don't believe the trading condions have change that much to reflect the current trading price of around a $1.
