Something that we can look forward to as shareholders is the impending readmission into the ASX300 in September.
When Genworth left the index in September 2020, the dumping of shares from index funds did cause a bit of a dip in the share price, as shown below:
But I think it will be harder for these funds to accumulate the necessary position in Genworth this time around. With Ares taking 15% and given the cancelled shares and ongoing share buybacks, the upward pressure on the share price will be stronger this September.
I'm looking forward to the little jump in SP we'll get.
