In a previous life I was a metals tester at a UK firm. We tested for all the metals ( Ni, Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Rh Fe Na ) ect.
Rh testing was done via a combination of Fire Assay and I.C.P. the problem was finding Pure Rh to run as a standard.
With the company I worked for Ni/Au ect could be turned around in a couple of days but the rare metals like Rh could take two months.
It depends on easy of digestion ( extracting from rock) and getting repeatable results.
