    Why is it Appen has been "toyed with"? Appen is the one who decides that they want to sneak in a very poor financial result at the end of a takeover announcement. That's poor form from Appen management.

    Telus has every right to pull its offer in light of the trading update. An analogy would be you making an offer to buy a house and then the owner tells you that it's infested with termites before you've had a chance to do due diligence. Would you really maintain your offer? I doubt it.

    I think it's obvious that Telus have deemed their bid is too high in light of new information. Probably goes to $5 tomorrow and then Telus comes back with a revised bid of, say $7. Telus is a business as well. They aren't a charity.
