Apart from the fact that the more committed people voted so screwed the result their way as approx 70% voted and the bill passed by about 60%
On that figure the calculation shows that if it had been a compulsory vote it would have failed as the vote would have been based on 100% not 74% it was equivalent to less than 50% so a compulsory vote would have failed so was no where near overwhelming
Now admitted some of the extra may have voted yes but on the stats it was unlikely to have passed
