The difference between AZY and GGP, is that AZY are in a better bargaining position. Also, AZY has 100% ground that may well end being a tier-1 mining operation. AZY management and board have more experience than GGP in discovering and developing mines.
The most important factor is that Telfer is drastically declining in ore grade and will cease to produce anything viable in the next 12-18 months. If there are more delays with Havieron, you'd think Newcrest would want to keep the plant running @ Telfer, and a contingency plan would be AZY'S Minyari ground.
Would it be cheaper in the long run to lob a t/o offer in near future?
Or make a toll treatment deal?
