Australia is in an enviable position in the sense that we can look around the world and see which political systems work - and have worked , when Elizabeth II Regina kicks the royal tin I think that when Lizzie hits her Stairway to Heaven many loyalist will have a good rethink on whether they want to be represented by a pair of bananas like the Chuck and Camilla show. I think someone like Diana would have made a difference but alas - that won't happen. I would love to see a democratic system based on the Swiss model Regional and reliant on popular referendums for the important decisions that affect its population Can you imagine that type of democracy in Australia where FNQ make decisions based of FNQ issues rather than Canberra issues?
