What part of total cost is labour? I would have thought that mining is now much more mechanised than in the past and see that Australia's higher cost base can be attributed more to higher energy and transport costs.

SA production costs will rise signiifcantly owing to power rate hikes of as much as 35% each year for the next 3 years. That will to some extent close the gap so for me a key factor will be future Palladium prices as Panton have a much higher Pd/Pt content than the SA mines.
