Insisting on dress codes in the moderm world is a minefield and I real feel for your predicament. I remember many years ago one of my office staff came to work in thongs and when she took umbrage I told her it was not acceptable in the office environment.
Another 'lady' dressed very provocatively (in more recent times) in the office and, on inquiry as to the suitability of such attire, I was informed that any challenge to her dress code could be deemed to be sexual discrimination!
Just as an afterthought, on the opposite end of the dress code scale, is the Burka acceptable in the workplace?
