The drop could be a result of Goldman Sachs saying that the price of three key battery elements - cobalt, lithium and nickel - dropping over the next two years. They said there will be a "sharp correction" in lithium prices from US$54,000 a tonne this year, down from a spot price of US$60,000 and is expected to fall further to an average of just over US$16,000 in 2023. But they did highlight that prices could take off again after 2024.
