Yeah no worries davidboy..Each to their own.. I enjoy doing the sums and compiling notes on management issues and sort of knowing a bit about where my investment $$ go.. I have a blind punt every now and then. Its good for the old ticker.... ( SHE ) was a good horse yesterday but ran out of puff today...... ( Vil ) is still pumpin her legs Volume is holding her position and could easily see a second and third wind before the punters leave trackside. Got another week to the next update.
Rightly as you said though, researching the company and its prospects doesn't guarantee an accurate forecast of its shareprice or EPS.... The share price is influenced by more than just past, present and potential activities or economics of any company. The sentiment in the retail market has a very strong influence on how the SP performs in most companies... Sorry to state the obvious but sentiment can be given a figure and placed into probabilistic models... Thats what charts can help you with ...
I haven't checked recently if someone has posted any up to date charts on VIL but I'd hazard a guess that the sentiment here is for a few Punters chasing a bag or two and a few bigger players playing the cumulation games.
I bought in at 2c a couple of weeks ago... I'm smilin already but there's always room in my account to throw an extra couple of bags into the mix..
either way you trade Dave81, as long as it keeps you busy and it doesn't send you broke then enjoy it for what it is........An opportunity to make more $$....
On another note of irrational.... Hmmm an exploration hole that prior to reaching its primary target, unexpectedly hits a region with so much gas pressure that the rig has to be readjusted to meet higher safety standards and that section cased before continuing to drill... In my rationale (without any sneeky recent SPP's to worry about) the share price should go up... Remember dave, prior to the gas shows Ann. the biggest discussion point was regional politics....And politics is as irrational as was the SP.... But Gas Shows like this means $$ in the pipe line..
Alternately you could bow your head and pray or throw darts at a list of companies, that in all good faith should make you a squillionare in no time.. Just gotta remember to sell high...
