It is unknown where the fractures travel away from the wellbore - this is the point i was trying to make. if the fracture/fault extends through the coal and in to high permeability aquifer - then it will just produce the acquifer and there will be minimal depletion in the coal. if the fracture is contained in the coal seam away from the well - then it will help productivity and make it easier to deplete the coal.
We won't know one way or another until they produce for several months and see or don't see gas building.
