Sentiment goes a long way but buying in a poor sentiment environment on above average attractive valuations is where it's at. It's nothing more than a discounting mechanism to protect from downside risk - that's why I pay close attention to cashflow and cashflow per share as an underlying indicator.. the rest will follow when sentiment improves. I will never touch stocks like XRO and PME for example they need to come down alot lower to become attractive on a cashflow level.
