Anvil Mining Plans to Restart Mining at Dikulushi in Congo

Oct. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Anvil Mining Ltd. said it plans to
restart production tomorrow at its Dikulushi copper and silver
mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo after shutting it down
because of conflict in a nearby village.
Men armed with guns seized the village of Kilwa, 54
kilometers south of Dikulushi, Reuters reported Oct. 14, citing a
spokesman for Congo's United Nations mission. Anvil, which has
offices in Toronto and Perth, shut the mine and evacuated some
workers because of the conflict.
``Anvil began remobilizing personnel back to the mine
yesterday via the airstrip at Kilwa and anticipates operations
will resume by tomorrow,'' the company said in a statement to the
Australian Stock Exchange.
