Not that simple Blister. Geraldton doesn’t have a specific berth for sand, so ASI’s sand was loaded over the iron ore berth. Because the berth was specific to iron ore, there was no washdown facility for the ship loader. The belts could be ‘run off’ to clean them, but that didn’t complete ly remove the risks. This was less of a concern for ASI because they were shipping construction sand, not glass making sand.
