hi guys not really much of a bank fan but i thought id ask this question, when % rates rise be it here or the US, that is technically good for banks isnt it? higher rates mean the banks make a higher profits because their margins are bigger, BUT if % rates rise, that will mean more people/businesses will default on their loans right?
but all in all, just broadly speaking are higher % rates good for banks profits even if it means some borrowers get hurt by rising rates.
