I had vista on my laptop, hated it and put windows 8 on it and hated that even more. My previous desk top computer, even though windows 8 was out they recommended windows 7 and I was happy with that. What I have been told since is that windows 8 was an attempt to make the desk to have the look and feel of a tablet

When I was looking to replace the last desk top windows 10 was out and support for windows 7 had ended so much to my disappointment I had no choice. How ever windows 10 turned out to be OK, still getting use to it but happy with it. I do get messages to upgrade to window 11 but I will not unless I have too, hate having to get use to a new system.

My current desktop is a big leap in technology, at least for me. It's a HP ProDesk 400 G6 Mini PC, it's a mini monster that has some great features. On apart from being really small I like that I can connect to internet via wifi so wires are minimal. Just today I discovered I can link the my mobile phone to my desk top computer so I now have access to phone calls, messages and photo's on my phone on my desk top via wireless. Not sure what else it can do

Technology in computers, smart phone ect has gone so far I think most of use don't learn to make the best use of what is capable. I use voice commands on my phone some times and it works great but have not got into the habit of using it regularly. I have izone to control the RC ducted air con, the option on how to control the air con is way out there and I can to connect and control, Security, reticulation, garage door and solar regulator

Hmmm Just thinking my computer may well be set up and capable of voice commands, will look into that
