They (Chinese) need every scrap they can get their hands on, even if it is from dodgy jurisdictions. Master was calling BS on operating mines, not the fact they may have secured interests in 6 resources. It’s years before meaningful quantities materialise out of Africa. By that stage, the supply/demand gap will have increased from the current level.
I notice Ford are expanding their F150 Lightning factory which will require an LCE quantity of more than half of the Ngungaju Plant production. Bear in mind this is one model from one plant, in one country. Every EV manufacturer is pushing Shite uphill presently.
The lightning has battery packs of 100 and 130 kWh. If we say an average of 120kWh as I would think most customers for the F150 would want longer range, 150k x 120 = 18000t LCE required.
