gse...the stockmarket was almost 7000 Dec 07, then fell to 3000 by Mar 09, a massive loss of about 60%....its rise of 50% or more....back up to 5000 is still way off the high water mark...... it is still well below its highs.... whereas property has hardly faltered, and still showing the gains... if you were lucky and sold out of stocks in Dec 07...then waited and bought back in Mar 09....you would have been winning.....I doubt very many played their cards right
