A really odd feature is despite the effluxion of time since the original unpublicised, and subsequently recently publicised, approach by the majority holder Yankuang Energy, YAL still claims it has not received any formal offer or proposal.
Maybe YE believes that if it waits a while, any anger from minority retail holders or desire for a higher bid from the likes of part-YAL owner Glencore will dissipate.
If so, YE is badly reading the room.
Or perhaps YE has no understanding, or wilful ignorance of, the Westminster system of government we have in Australia and how that doesn't always mean a CCP_style 'railroading' approach wins the day.
