Governor Ducey wisely avoided showing up for a 5-minute photo op with the latest members of Arizona’s fan club. The former ice-cream magnate is not on the ballot this year because he has fallen out of favor with the Trump followers who control the state party. But he hopes to have some future in politics. He knows that Australians don’t vote, but 300,000 Native Americans do and, for example, they supported Senator John McCain, another Republican, because he was sensitive to reservation needs. A photo with any AZL connections would come back to haunt him in a later campaign.
