    @Steve98 - et al:
    this reference to 'energy mess' etc seems like a suitable place to put my plea - and i will post this on a more general thread, too

    Every year when it gets cold, I look at my existing fireplace, which has been boarded up and had a fairly inefficient, long and electric heater installed - it's one of those panel things from the nordic countries, but the heat output is not nearly enough for my cold house - yet it still costs me a fair bit in electricity.
    So every year, I consider - again - installing a proper wood-burning stove, not a good idea for a woman living on her own, though - chopping of wood required, storing, handling it etc.

    Today I came upon a cheap good-as-new pellet stove (almost unused) for $1000.

    Do any of you have any experience with pellet stoves - and the cost of running those? Price of pellets etc. cleaning up
    Any suggestion welcome.
    Thanks
    Taurisk
