    Interesting but how would they debase a currency if it's locked to gold, the only inflation in gold is annual 1 or 2% increase in above ground reserves which gradually easily mined resources deplete lessening the debasement rate.

    The pegged price has to increase over time as it trades as a swap for energy which also depletes.
