@picastoc - work is piling up here, but can't help myself, MUST check in on HC - shares are dismal and will be for some time - yesterday the only stocks that seemed to do well, were banking stocks - and - apparently GOLD - which means times are insecure - as if we didn't know that.
Life is fragile - always - except we sit in our cosy nests and do not care to really find out what's going on - MEA CULPA, too!

I am listening to the classic 100 count-down via 2 radios at opposing ends of my house - mostly from movie scores, many I like, too - probably a good ploy by ABC Classics to gain new adherents - lots of people with gaming background and younger people leaving messages

. . . . .and I have said this before, but this year was my year of enlightenment as to 'where have all the good composers vanished to?' the answer is: "into the movie scene" - still employing all the wonderful techniques of their forerunners in the pre-digital age beginning - propably - with clerical chanting in the early Middle Ages. At the moment 'Hans Zimmer' is playing, he is
one of my favourites. Wondering if the 3rd Man tune on the Zither is going to turn up. "Gone with the Wind' now - whaddoyouknow!??

I remember also being under the spell of a sound track which was outrageously strange - for a film "Medea' with Maria Callas in the title role and instruments played were natural, things like sheeps' horns, all kinds of drums and bells it was an eary film and Maria did not even speak very much, did not sing at all.

Your posts are always interesting, too, Pica - thanks for replying!!! The beautiful calligraphy of your shorthand had me checking out my original script, which is a lot more boring, but incredibly logical - like all things German are, often to their detriment.
For example, every letter of the alphabet is used in some abbreviation, still retaining part of the original - vowels are indicated by either more pressure or a change of position on the 3-lineal subdivision of 'the line' - so the finished writing still has a look of the 'alphabet' about it. - I was astonished how much I had forgotten. It's good fun to brush up on old knowledge.
