I was just about to post the same article. My favourite bit is

‘iLi Markets' Jimenez doesn’t think supply will be able to catch up with demand at least until 2026 to 2027, mainly because of the difficulty of bringing greenfield projects into production at full capacity.“Over this period of time, lithium should be the limiting factor in EV sales

The GS supposed research is, was and will be an absolute joke. It did its job dropping lithium companies SP’s across the board. What wankers, Chinese lepidolite creating an oversupply. Obviously very little understanding of how much effort is required to turn that into battery grade.

Interesting also in the article stating that $40 a kg may not seem like a high price in the future.

Dreaming for a bit but $100 per kg for 100kt LCE is $10 billion a year. I imagine we could get a decent dividend out of that.

Back to reality, as we know the battery requirements are very specialised, I imagine the tried and tested gear will demand top dollar over newer relatively untested material.

Nice to know in these troubled markets that our company is safe as houses or probably safer with the interest rate rises.
