RE Capacitors.
Capacitors are for short term quick charging and powerful energy release bursts. They don't hold that charge very well over time. They will be used in conjunction with batteries to increase transport efficiency (for e.g. during braking and acceleration). You will still need batteries to hold longer term charge. Batteries won't be going anywhere based on those electrical engineering axioms.
