Half-time round-up: "ASX Update: Sixteen-month low as recession fears swirl"

In this report:

• ASX 200 plunges 4.9%
• Going up: dreams in smoke, WGX, takeover targets
• Going down: tech, BNPL, LYC, VVA, SKC
• US futures bounce 0.47%

Personal trading: Big surf this morning. The best approach I've found over the years for days like this is to get in amongst the worst performers in the opening scramble and flip them within the hour. No big winners, but there was money to be made in PAN, ADN, EL8, INR and 4DS so long as you didn't hang around. Longer term, this washout is going to create value opportunities. Waiting for dull, steady yield stocks to get thrown out with the bathwater.
