I received a reply from Alex earlier this year in relation to protection from a takeover and he said the top 5 are tightly held.
I am strongly opposed to an opportunistic takeover, why should I give up my rights to the anticipated upside after slugging things out till now? The announcement today fast-tracked their road to profitability, one of the main blockers (health food segment) is going to be dealt with. The other blocker is investment costs which may be put on hold next quarter to tighten the ship while macro remains poor.
The divestment will boost the company's cash reserves and financing from a bank should mean we've seen our last capital raise. From my calculations they have ~$600k gap per quarter to close to reach breakeven after implementing these changes. The more medicinal cannabis revenue they generate the smaller the gap gets which means economies of scale is a thing for this business.
It's a matter of when, not if.
